Flash! AAaahhh!

Flash Gordon.  Fantastically bad movie.  Just awesomely bad.  One of my all time favorite movies.  One of those movies where if you happen to be flipping channels and come across it, you watch it from whatever point it’s at.  I think Bill Simmons was the one to introduce that measurement to judge the quality of a movie.  I think his example is Shawshank Redemption.  I happen to agree with him.

But I digress.  Flash Gordon is a stellar piece of film making.  Which is why I don’t understand why it isn’t available on DVD.  I’ve heard it might have something to do with the Queen soundtrack but I don’t think so as you can buy the soundtrack off of iTunes (yes, I have it.)

It was on TV this morning.  One of those movie channels that doesn’t edit or have commercials, yet isn’t quite the HBO or Showtime premium level.

I tivo’d it.  It’s on my do-not-delete list.  Last night, I signed up for Tivo-to-go and today I transferred the movie to my computer so I can burn it on DVD.

In case it’s not obvious, yes I am both excited and very pleased with myself.
