I’ve started a journal over at BuyEco.com. As I said over there, I’m sort of a wannabe eco-friendly guy. Every now and then I’ll buy stuff because it’s supposedly better for the environment. Detergents without the bad chemicals, fair-trade coffee, etc… But for the most part, I haven’t because I haven’t put much thought to it. It’s not easy to do for the novice if you don’t know what you’re looking for. Not to mention, the products frequent cost more and require real effort to find.

That’s basically what keeps me from doing it. If the offer is right in front of me and it costs the same, I’ll do it. Otherwise, I don’t go out of my way. Yeah, I’m cheap and lazy. You wanna fight about it?

So, I’m going to see what I can do to get more ‘green’. I’m going to keep a journal of my attempts. In part, it’s my way of committing to the concept. Putting my money where my mouth is, so to speak.

I want to see if it’s possible to get products for the same price or cheaper that work just as well as the more popular brands and versions. It may take a bit more effort, but if you want to try to do the same, hopefully my reviews and links will make the whole purchasing process easier for you.
