This internet thing… I think I’m missing something…

Last night on CNBC on the show “On the Money”, they ran a clip about Kevin Ham and ‘domaining’.  It wasn’t the most flattering light to shine on this sector of making money online.  Have you ever gone to type in a domain and ended it with .cm as a typo instead of .com?  It lands you on agoga.com, which is a parked domain.  That’s Kevin Ham.  He makes a boatload off of that. He also owns about 300,000 .com addresses.  Needless to say, he make a lot of money.

When I tell people about domaining, most usually automatically connect it to typosquatting.  Like Yaoho.com, microsogt.com, etc…  To say that is ‘domaining’ is like saying SEO is meta tags.
